At 30, most people are expected to have it all figured out: a job, an apartment, and a relationship. Yet, for Sophie, something is clearly missing: happiness, or even, destiny.

With her ancestors wiped out by the Cambodian genocide, Sophie is haunted by the past. And she is determined to find her own answers. Trading her city life for a call of the wild, Sophie sets on an unexpected journey in the outdoors. But the more she ventures, the more challenges she faces.

From the snowy forests of Scandinavia to the raging rivers of Nepal, Sophie will not only learn to survive, but to thrive. She will risk herself deeper and deeper into nature until she faces true wilderness: our own.
